Some tasks shouldn't run during the page request - sending emails, processing webhooks, generating thumbnails. Vvveb pushes these to a background queue that is processed outside the request, keeping pages fast.
How it works
- Jobs are enqueued by the core and plugins (e.g. newsletter sends, notification deliveries)
- A queue worker processes jobs; on hosts without a persistent worker the cron runner performs a pass each run
- Providers: a database-backed driver works everywhere; Redis can be used for higher throughput
Monitoring from the admin
Tools → Queue shows, per configured queue:
- Number of pending / failed jobs
- Provider in use
- Manual controls to run a pass or retry failed jobs
