The Translations page manages the translated strings used by the admin interface and themes. While languages defines which languages your site supports, translations define what the texts say in each language.

Translation domains

Strings are grouped into domains so they stay independent:

  • App - core admin interface strings
  • Themes - one domain per installed theme
  • Plugins - one domain per plugin

Editing translations

  1. Select the language
  2. Pick the domain to work on
  3. Search for an existing string or add a new translation entry
  4. Save - translations are compiled and applied immediately

Notes

  • Missing strings fall back to English
  • Theme and plugin updates may add new strings - revisit domains after updating
  • Content translations (posts/products in multiple languages) are handled per item in the editor language tabs, not here
