Digital assets are downloadable files sold or given with a product - ebooks, software, music, templates, license files. When a customer completes an order containing a digital product, the asset becomes available for download from their account (Downloads).

Uploading assets

  1. Go to Catalog → Digital assets Click Add Upload the file - assets are stored privately under storage/digital_assets, outside the public web root, so they cannot be downloaded without a purchase
  2. Save

Selling digital products

  1. Create a product as usual
  2. Attach the digital asset(s) to it
  3. Optionally disable shipping for the product since nothing is physically delivered

Customers receive download links once the order reaches a completed payment status. Download links are tied to the order so they can't be shared publicly.
