The Currencies section allows you to manage all the currencies available in your store. These settings determine how prices are displayed to customers and how currency conversion is handled across your site.

You can enable multiple currencies, set conversion values, and control which currencies customers can select during checkout.

What You Can Do

From the Currencies page, you can:

  • Add new currencies
  • Edit currency names, symbols, and formatting
  • Set conversion values relative to the base currency
  • Enable or disable currencies
  • Control which currencies appear to customers
  • Manage currency settings per site in multi‑site environments

Customer‑Facing Currency Selection

When multiple currencies are active:

  • Customers can choose their preferred currency while browsing your store
  • Product prices and totals are automatically converted using the configured exchange rate
  • The selected currency is applied throughout the shopping and checkout process

This is especially useful for international stores.

Multi‑Site Currency Support

In multi‑site setups, each site can have its own set of active currencies.

Examples:

  • Site A sells in USD and EUR
  • Site B sells only in GBP
  • Site C sells in JPY and AUD

This allows each site to target different regions or markets with localized pricing.

Why Currency Configuration Matters

Proper currency setup ensures:

  • Accurate price conversion
  • Clear and consistent display of currency symbols
  • A better shopping experience for international customers
  • Flexibility when managing multiple storefronts
