The Language settings page allows you to configure the languages available on your Vvveb site. Here you can edit language details, enable or disable languages, and install language packs for translations when available.

Vvveb language

What You Can Configure

Each language entry includes several fields that control how the language behaves on your site:

Name

The human‑readable name of the language (e.g., Romanian, French, Spanish).

Slug

The short code used in URLs, such as:

/en/
/ro/
/fr/

This determines how multilingual links are generated.

Code

The language code used internally (e.g., ro_RO, en_US).
This helps Vvveb load the correct translation files.

Locale

Defines the locale format used for:

  • Dates
  • Numbers
  • Currency
  • Regional formatting

Example: ro-ro, en-gb, de-de.

Status

Controls whether the language is Active or Inactive on the site.

RTL (Right‑to‑Left)

Enable this option for languages written from right to left (e.g., Arabic, Hebrew).

Default

Marks the language as the primary language of the site.
The default language is used when no language is specified in the URL.

Sort Order

Determines the order in which languages appear in menus and selectors.

Language Packs

If a translation pack is available for the selected language, you can install it directly from this page.
A language pack provides:

  • Admin interface translations
  • Front‑end theme translations
  • Plugin translations (when supported)

If no pack is available, you can still manually translate content and interface strings.

When to Edit Language Settings

You may need to adjust language settings when:

  • Adding a new language to your site
  • Changing the default language
  • Updating URL slugs for SEO
  • Installing translation packs
  • Managing multilingual ecommerce stores
