Some tasks shouldn't run during the page request - sending emails, processing webhooks, generating thumbnails. Vvveb pushes these to a background queue that is processed outside the request, keeping pages fast.

How it works

  • Jobs are enqueued by the core and plugins (e.g. newsletter sends, notification deliveries)
  • A queue worker processes jobs; on hosts without a persistent worker the cron runner performs a pass each run
  • Providers: a database-backed driver works everywhere; Redis can be used for higher throughput

Monitoring from the admin

Tools → Queue shows, per configured queue:

  • Number of pending / failed jobs
  • Provider in use
  • Manual controls to run a pass or retry failed jobs

Troubleshooting

  • Emails stuck as pending → ensure cron is set up or a worker runs
  • Repeated failures → check the error log; most failures are provider credentials or connectivity
