This guide walks you through installing Vvveb CMS on any server or local environment, step by step.

Download Vvveb CMS

Visit the official website and download the latest release.

Download: https://vvveb.com

Upload Vvveb to Your Server

Unzip the downloaded archive and upload the contents to your hosting environment using:

FTP (FileZilla, Cyberduck, WinSCP)
cPanel File Manager
SFTP (for VPS)

Create a Database

Vvveb supports MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQLite.

For MySQL/MariaDB: Open phpMyAdmin or your hosting control panel.

Create a new database.
Create a database user and assign permissions.

If you choose SQLite, no database setup is required.

Open Your Website to Start the Installer

Navigate to your domain or local environment:

http://localhost
http://yourdomain.com

The installation wizard will appear automatically.

Step 1 Database Configuration

Enter the database details you created earlier:

Database engine
Host (usually 127.0.0.1)
Database name
Username
Password

Tip: If you don't know your database credentials, check your hosting control panel or contact your provider.

Step 2 Website & Admin Setup

Fill in your site information:

Website name
Admin email
Admin username
Admin password
Optional: custom admin login path
Optional: disable ecommerce
Choose your default theme (Landing or Blog)

Finish Installation

Click Finish install to complete the setup.

Vvveb will:

Create necessary tables
Configure your site
Install your selected theme
Set up your admin account

Log In to Your Dashboard

After installation, log in at:

http://localhost/admin
https://yourdomain.com/admin
Or your custom admin path

Continue with the first steps after installation to configure your new site.

Recommended Security Setup

For best security:

Set document root to `/public/`

This ensures only one PHP file is publicly accessible. See Apache configuration or Nginx configuration.

This reduces brute force attempts.

Optional Install Using CLI

For automated or scripted installs:

php cli.php install module=index host=127.0.0.1 engine=mysqli user=root password= database=vvveb admin[email]=admin@vvveb.com admin[username]=admin admin[password]=123456 subdir=/vvveb

Optional Subdirectory Installation

If installing in a folder like /vvveb, update:

`env.php`

defined('V_SUBDIR_INSTALL') || define('V_SUBDIR_INSTALL', '/vvveb');

`.htaccess` (Apache)

RewriteRule ^ vvveb/index.php [L]

`nginx.conf` (Nginx)

Add the subdirectory before index.php in the try_files directive.

🛆caution Subdirectory installs are not recommended for multi-site setups. All sites would inherit the subdirectory path.

Installing on XAMPP/WAMP (Local Development) Install XAMPP or WAMP.

Place Vvveb inside htdocs or www.
Visit http://localhost/vvveb.
